Murri, a little one-day-old orphaned fox, was rescued by rural agents and brought to the Zoo of the Pyrenees. Mercè, on the other hand, arrived blind, victim of parasites that damaged her sight. Although our mission is to return the animals to the wild, we soon realized that Murri and Mercè could not return to their natural habitat.

What they needed was not just basic care: they required a safe home adapted to their needs. But, like many other organizations, we faced a challenge: resources were limited and the purchase of materials to build these adequate spaces seemed an elusive mission.

But instead of giving up, we decided to fight for them. We knew that, with the support of generous companies and individuals, we could give Murri and Mercè the home they deserve. Thus our fundraising campaign was born, with the symbolic sponsorship of the foxes, and the response was incredible. Thanks to the solidarity of many, we managed to raise an important part of the money needed to build their new home.

But despite the support received, it was still not enough.

It was then that we decided to take advantage of the magic of Christmas to go one step further. We created the Solidarity Market in the hope of raising the funds we still needed. We contacted local businesses and artisans, sharing with them the story of Murri and Mercè, and asked for their support. We invited them to donate products, materials or experiences that could be sold in our Zoo of the Pyrenees store.

What seemed like a dream soon became a reality. With each purchase, visitors not only took a piece of Christmas home, but also contributed directly to the welfare of Murri and Mercè, helping to finance the construction of their new homes adapted to their needs.

Today, thanks to the generosity of so many supportive people and companies, we have reached our goal: the materials are purchased, and the foxes will soon have a safe home. This achievement is thanks to you: to every purchase, to every contribution, and to the companies that decided to join our cause.

This achievement would not have been possible without everyone’s solidarity. Thanks to the generosity of our visitors, who with each purchase at the Solidarity Market have contributed to the welfare of Murri and Mercè, we have managed to raise the necessary funds for their new home.
